Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Endoscopy nurse to join our busy department. The successful applicant will have a strong background in Endoscopy procedures and experience in a team leader role.
The post holder will support the smooth running of the department, with responsibilities including coordinating inpatient and outpatient flow, supporting the senior team with management of staffing, and undertaking various administrative tasks.
The successful candidate will be trained in Endoscopy-related information, HR tasks, audit work, and other skills required to contribute to the efficient running of the unit.
Main Duties of the Job
- Working as an experienced team leader within the Endoscopy department, with involvement in HR responsibilities such as sickness and absence management.
- Training and sharing knowledge with new, junior, and student nurses.
- Audit responsibility to contribute to the JAG accreditation.
- Involvement with staff rostering and allocation.
- Resource management of equipment and consumables.
- Service improvement and development participation.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for deputising for the Ward Manager and liaising with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure effective care delivery. They will communicate proactively with staff to ensure accurate nursing records are maintained.
The post holder will lead and support others in coordinating the discharge process, ensuring written and verbal advice is available to patients and their relatives. They will actively involve others in communications between patients, relatives, and the multi-disciplinary team.
The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of good hand hygiene and environmental cleaning, as well as the principles of infection control.
Professional and Legal Responsibilities
The post holder will be conversant with policies and procedures relating to Fire and Health and Safety, reporting all accidents and complaints in accordance with agreed policies. They will ensure their own and others' professional/educational/training needs are identified and maintained to maintain clinical and professional credibility.
