Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our busy Endoscopy Department as an Endoscopy Deputy Lead Nurse. We are looking for an experienced Endoscopy nurse with a team leader background to support the smooth running of the department.

Main Duties
  • Co-ordinate inpatient and outpatient flow, supporting the senior team with management of staffing and other junior management tasks.
  • Train and share knowledge with new, junior and student nurses.
  • Audit responsibility to contribute to JAG accreditation.
  • Involve in staff rostering and allocation.
  • Manage resources, including equipment and consumables.
  • Participate in service improvement and development.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • NMC registration.
  • Able to evidence recent and continuing professional development relevant to the department.

Experience

  • Post-registration experience of working in an acute hospital setting.
  • Relevant current endoscopy experience, including assisting endoscopy therapeutic interventions like Polypectomy, ERCP, Dilatation and Nurse Led Consenting.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of managing a team and staff performance.

Skills

  • Competent in all aspects of medicine management.
  • Venepuncture and Cannulation or working towards.
