Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Support Worker Team Leader to join our team. As a key member of our pharmacy services, you will lead a team of pharmacy support workers, providing a pharmaceutical service to care homes, care at home, and GP practices across Ayrshire & Arran. Your primary objective will be to minimize harm, waste, and variation, while improving the quality of medicines management, reducing waste, and delivering medicine efficiencies in all care settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of pharmacy support workers, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical services.
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacy technicians and pharmacists to develop work plans and practice placements for the pharmacy support workers.
  • Manage and coordinate the Pharmacy Support Worker team, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
  • Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in undertaking routine tasks to support safe, evidence-based, rational, and cost-effective prescribing.
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize harm, waste, and variation, while improving the quality of medicines management.

Requirements:

  • Ability to operate computer systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Approachable and adaptable to frequent change.
  • Able to work on own initiative, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.

Additional Information:

This is a permanent position, with an option for Annex 21, which includes a 75% salary until the management qualification required is completed. The qualification will be undertaken at college over a 12-week period.

A car license/car ownership is essential for this role.
