Our Audiences and Media Department focuses on growing love, advocacy and demand for our art, aiming to share it with millions across the world and increase audience-generated revenues.
We are seeking an Artistic Communications Specialist to join our Communications team during a busy period from September 2023. This role will involve working closely with the Heads of Opera and Ballet Press teams to deliver proactive campaigns that enhance the reputation and profile of our work on stage.
This is a great opportunity for a strong team player who enjoys working with a diverse range of people and wants to advance their career in press and campaign delivery. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a busy press office/communications team, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a broad understanding of the operational needs of large-scale organisations.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering effective media relations strategies
- Working with artists, PRs and agents
- Developing key relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Grasping complex issues quickly and dealing with them effectively at short notice
Requirements
- Extensive experience in a press office/communications team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Broad experience working with artists, PRs and agents
- Good experience in the arts sector and understanding of operational needs
What We Offer
As a contract employee, prior experience in the arts or media sector will be highly regarded. You will also need to be able to get up to speed quickly with specialised subject matter related to opera and ballet.
Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary for this role is £28,000 per annum. This is a full-time position, with some flexibility for evening/weekend work. The role is based on site at ROH Covent Garden.
