Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Leonardo. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting our world-leading radar and electro-optic products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop innovative mechanical solutions using state-of-the-art methods, technology, and tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical accuracy and quality of specifications, designs, and reports.
  • Perform 'hands-on' mechanical design and development using 3D CAD software.
  • Mentor and develop engineers in technical knowledge and soft skills.
  • Provide technical direction and support on critical business programs.
  • Support and facilitate reviews and sign-off of mechanical designs.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Mechanical Engineer with proven experience in a Senior or Principal level role.
  • Minimum of an upper second-class Masters Honours degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent job-related experience.
  • Experience of using 3D CAD software, preferably Creo.
  • Chartered Engineer with IMechE or equivalent, or ability to demonstrate UK-SPEC competencies.
