About the Role:

Leonardo is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Edinburgh. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting our world-leading radar and electro-optic products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems and components for radar and electro-optic products.
  • Perform stress and thermal analysis to ensure product reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement design solutions.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers to develop their technical skills.
  • Provide technical direction and support to critical business programs.
  • Support and facilitate reviews and sign-off of mechanical designs.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Mechanical Engineer with proven experience in a Senior or Principal level role.
  • Minimum of an upper second-class Masters Honours degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent job-related experience.
  • Experience of using 3D CAD software, preferably Creo.
  • Chartered Engineer with IMechE or equivalent, or ability to demonstrate UK-SPEC competencies for Chartered status.
