Job Title: Lead Control and Instrumentation Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Control and Instrumentation Systems Engineer to join our team at Rolls-Royce SMR. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in the design, development, and implementation of control and instrumentation systems for our nuclear power plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in the design and development of control and instrumentation systems.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that control and instrumentation systems meet the required specifications and standards.
  • Develop and implement system architecture, sub-system design, and equipment specification and design/selection.
  • Ensure compliance with international standards, including IEC 61513, IEC 61226, and IEC 61508.
  • Produce validation plans and define test plans to demonstrate that control and instrumentation system requirements have been satisfied.
  • Support the procurement, operations, and maintenance aspects of control and instrumentation systems.
  • Contribute to the production of safety cases and provide support in liaising with regulators and independent nuclear safety assessors.
Requirements:
  • Hold a degree-level qualification in one or more of the engineering disciplines of electrical, electronics, instrumentation, control systems, mechatronics, physics, or computer science.
  • Minimum of [X] years of experience in control and instrumentation systems design and development.
  • Proven track record of providing technical leadership and expertise in control and instrumentation systems.
  • Knowledge and experience of relevant industry standards for systems important to safety.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including regulatory bodies.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive salary of £57,600 - £75,600 (DOE) plus performance-related bonus of up to 12.5%.
  • Benefits allowance of £2,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package.

  • 28 days holiday plus public holidays and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days.
