Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Medical Secretary to join our team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to our medical secretaries and consultant teams, ensuring the smooth operation of our department.

Main Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have excellent administration and secretarial skills, with experience in audio-typing and customer relations. They will be responsible for typing clinical and administrative letters, answering telephone enquiries, and dealing with patient queries. Additionally, they will cover medical secretaries during periods of absence and contribute to multi-disciplinary team meetings.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a good understanding of customer relations, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. You will also need to be proficient in using a variety of IT applications, including Microsoft Office, and have experience working in a customer-focused environment.
