About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Learning Disability Nurse to join our Adult Replacement Care Service Team at Osborne Court. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to adults and children with learning disabilities, who require nursing care due to their complex health or behavior.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist service users with personal care, moving and handling, and support them to participate in a range of activities, socializing, and making and maintaining friendships.
  • Admit and discharge service users, manage medication, and carry out clinical interventions, such as enteral feeding and oxygen therapy.
  • Take charge of the service for a span of duty in the absence of senior staff, work without direct supervision, and as a member of a team.
  • Support all members of the team, supervise, and teach students, unqualified staff, and carers.
  • Provide evidence-based nursing care to service users, document care given, and maintain contemporaneous records.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new staff, and be responsible for own professional development.
Requirements
  • Relevant learning disability experience.
  • Registered Learning Disability Nurse, Registered Nurse Mental Health, or Registered General Nurse.
  • Current registration with the NMC.
  • Ability to role model good behavior, have a positive attitude, and be able to act on feedback.
  • Understanding of learning disability, physical disability, and associated healthcare needs.
