We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Drama Specialist to join our vibrant secondary school in Hackney, London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach key stages 3 and 4, developing and implementing engaging and creative Drama curriculum and lesson plans.
  • Lead and manage the Drama department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Mentor and support Drama teachers, fostering professional development and sharing best practices.
  • Organize and oversee school productions, performances, and extra-curricular drama activities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to promote growth.
  • Collaborate with other department heads and school leadership to enhance the overall educational experience.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in teaching Drama at the secondary level.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and students.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • A passion for Drama and the ability to bring creativity into the classroom.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Candidates must have QTS and a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
