Job Description

Role Overview

Kent County Council is seeking a dedicated Family Support Specialist to join our team in Dover District. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children, young people, and families in the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality support to families with children aged 0-11, promoting positive outcomes and empowering parents to build strong, independent networks.
  • Deliver play and learning opportunities across Family Hub sites, community settings, and outreach locations, ensuring a seamless and effective service.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement targeted interventions, public health initiatives, and home learning programs that address the unique needs of vulnerable children and families.

Requirements

  • Highly organized and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of families and the community.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate effective interventions and programs.

Working Arrangements

This role is considered customer-facing, and the successful candidate will be required to operate a Whole Family approach in their practice, working around the times of the family. The post will be expected to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, as required by management.
