Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement high-quality English intervention sessions for KS2 pupils, tailored to their specific learning needs.
  • Assess pupils' progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies to meet individual goals and learning gaps.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group instruction, focusing on areas such as reading fluency, comprehension, writing skills, and spelling.
  • Collaborate with class teachers, the SENCO, and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to pupil development.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to class teachers and parents as necessary.
  • Create a positive and encouraging learning environment that motivates pupils and supports their confidence in literacy.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching in a primary school, ideally with a focus on English or literacy.
  • Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 2 English curriculum and strategies for supporting children with varying levels of ability.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents.
