Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Strategic Financial Leader to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and developing teams to provide high-quality financial support and advice. You will work closely with our Assistant Director of Finance to drive the delivery of the council's medium-term financial strategy, annual budget, and savings programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: You will be responsible for reporting the council's financial position, including revenue and capital expenditure, treasury management, and the completion of statutory accounts accurately and within required timescales.
- Revenue and Capital Monitoring: You will coordinate all revenue and capital monitoring across the business partnering directorates, ensuring timely and accurate information is provided to inform decision-making.
- Business Partnering: You will lead the business partnering function for corporate-related financial activities, providing influential input to the decision-making process and challenging strategy and policy development.
- Invest to Save/Service Transformation: You will evaluate proposals to deliver cost efficiencies and future-year service delivery models, working closely with colleagues to identify opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in financial leadership, with experience of developing and implementing financial strategies. You will also need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Salary Information
The salary for this role is £68,330 - £75,195 per annum, depending on experience.
