About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in a vibrant primary school in Tower Hamlets. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive the personalized support they require for a fulfilling educational experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide focused morning support for students with SEMH needs, including those diagnosed with ADHD and potential self-harming behaviors.
  • Offer vital afternoon assistance, with the flexibility to work across Key Stages 1 and 2 as needed.
  • Leverage your expertise to foster a nurturing, inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement individualized support plans and interventions.
  • Build positive relationships with students, supporting their social, emotional, and academic development.

What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of SEN, safeguarding, and child protection practices.
  • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
  • Willingness to assist with nappy changing when necessary.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant qualifications and/or training in education, SEN, or child development are highly desirable.
