The successful candidate will oversee the smooth operation of the department, managing a team of three and leading the accounting function.

Key Responsibilities:

Management of the accounting team - ensuring efficient operations and effective communication within the team.

Budgeting and reporting - preparing monthly management accounts, quarterly VAT reports, and supporting the annual budget and in-year forecasts.

Finance and process systems - improving processes and systems, developing internal control procedures for main and specialist transactions, such as student fees and grants.

Experience and skills

  • Professional Accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA)
  • Proven line management experience and excellent IT skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a flexible attitude
