Management Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our team at IPS Group. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing the financial health of the company by ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, supporting pricing and margin strategies, overseeing VAT compliance, and providing key performance insights to the board.

Key Responsibilities
  • Management Accounts Reporting
    • Ensure management accounts are reported accurately and delivered to the board within the monthly deadline.
    • Prepare comprehensive management accounts, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
    • Liaise with department heads to gather necessary data, perform variance analysis, and explain key financial trends.
    • Provide insights and analysis of the financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and growth opportunities.
  • Product Pricing and Margin Analysis
    • Support product pricing decisions by calculating accurate product costs and margins to optimize profitability.
    • Monitor gross margins per product, identifying areas where margins can be improved or optimized.
    • Provide detailed financial models and pricing scenarios to support decision-making.
  • VAT Returns and Compliance
    • Ensure timely and accurate VAT returns for all entities within the group, maintaining compliance with relevant tax regulations.
  • Weekly & Monthly KPI Reporting
    • Deliver timely and insightful key performance indicator (KPI) reports with commentary to the board, providing a clear overview of business performance.
    • Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly KPI reports covering key financial and operational metrics such as sales, revenue, profit margins, and customer acquisition costs.

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000
