**About this Financial Contoller opportunity**

We are working in partnership with a leading further education college in Lincolnshire, who are seeking a Financial Controller to play a crucial role in financial management.

Through technical and professional development and education, this college is on a mission to transform lives and promote prosperity in communities across Lincolnshire.

**A summary of your responsibilities in this role**:
In this role, you will be responsible for a finance team including finance business partners and accounts assistants.
- Provide a thorough financial management service, aiming to guide resources effectively and improve processes
- Take the lead in producing financial data, constantly refining how it's presented to ensure decisions are well-informed
- Lead the finance team, offering support, mentorship, and fostering teamwork
- Offer financial advice to different teams, ensuring strategies align with college objectives
- Support the development of financial plans and budgets - making sure that things stay on track
- Ensure budgets are realistic and help understand financial status
- Set up ways to monitor finances throughout the year and produce regular reports
- Take care of preparing financial statements and grant claims - ensuring compliance
- Bring financial insights to meetings and discussions
- Keep financial systems in check, refining rules and keeping everything organised
- Manage cash flow and banking, ensuring enough to cover needs
- Keep systems up to date and running smoothly (making improvements where possible)
- Ensure documents are in order for when auditors come around, and help coordinate their visits
- Engage with internal and external auditors and implement any suggestions they have to improve processes

**Your skills and experience**:

- Full membership of a CCAB institution (ACCA/ACA/CIMA/CIPFA - or equivalent)
- Relevant experience in accounting and finance
- Extensive senior-level involvement in finance operations
- Proficiency in articulating intricate concepts to diverse stakeholders effectively
- Expertise encompassing key finance domains such as financial planning, budgeting, financial statement preparation and management reporting
- Demonstrated proficiency in directing and supervising teams of personnel
- Proven track record in implementing and overseeing financial systems
