About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs). The successful candidate will work alongside partner agencies to develop and co-produce training materials and support the delivery of whole school approach models for mental health.

The MHSTs are a new service designed to support children and young people with mild to moderate mental health and emotional wellbeing difficulties within education settings. The successful candidate will work with children and young people, as well as with schools and other partner agencies, to provide early intervention and prevention services.

The ideal candidate will have a UK Professional Registration and experience of working therapeutically with children and families with mental health needs. They will also have knowledge of evidence-based practice with children and families, including CBT, and experience of providing and receiving supervision.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about early intervention and prevention, and who has a strong focus on whole school approaches to emotional wellbeing and mental health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with children and young people, as well as with schools and other partner agencies, to provide early intervention and prevention services.
  • Develop and co-produce training materials and support the delivery of whole school approach models for mental health.
  • Provide therapeutic support to children and young people with mild to moderate mental health and emotional wellbeing difficulties.
  • Work with schools and other partner agencies to develop and implement whole school approaches to emotional wellbeing and mental health.

Requirements:

  • UK Professional Registration
  • Experience of working therapeutically with children and families with mental health needs
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practice with children and families, including CBT
  • Experience of providing and receiving supervision
  • Enthusiasm for early intervention and prevention, and a strong focus on whole school approaches to emotional wellbeing and mental health
