Job Title: Experienced Teaching Assistant Wanted

Job Type: Full-time, 5 days a week

Location: Yeovil

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a well-resourced special school in Yeovil. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting children with a range of special educational needs, including learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), sensory, speech and language impairments, and behavioral difficulties.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Adapt lesson activities to meet the individual needs of pupils
  • Create and maintain a stimulating learning environment to promote achievement and well-being
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times
  • Support students in developing social skills and self-regulation skills
  • Assist the teacher with classroom management

Requirements:

  • Interest in supporting children and young people
  • Right to work in the UK (valid visa)
  • Relevant references and DBS/police checks (if necessary)
  • Able to work 5 days a week (term time only), 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
