About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join our engineering department as a Lead Technical Consultant for Temporary Roofing. This role will involve overseeing the technical aspects of our product and project designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and providing expert technical advice to both internal teams and external customers. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in structural steel, non-mechanical construction systems, or similar disciplines, with a mix of technical expertise and commercial awareness.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and guide a small team of technicians, ensuring technical excellence and effective collaboration
* Take responsibility for the design, analysis, and verification of products and project installations, ensuring they meet all technical and safety standards
* Provide expert technical advice to both internal teams and external customers, including suppliers, clients, and checking authorities
* Regulate the development of new products within our product development framework, ensuring they align with industry standards and customer needs
* Keep up to date with British and International standards and ensure all products and processes comply with the latest industry requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent status with a relevant institution (e.g., IStructE, ICE)
* BSc/BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent experience)
* Proficient in AutoCAD, structural analysis software (e.g., SkyCiv, Dlubal, AdvancedDesign, Robot), and Office 365
* Practical understanding of construction, scaffolding, temporary works, and related sectors
* Experience managing and guiding a team, with a strong ability to delegate and drive projects forward
