Key Responsibilities:
\u2022
Provide assurance on the effectiveness of the Council\u2019s systems of internal control, risk management, and governance processes.
\u2022
Work closely with senior management to agree improvements to the ways in which the Council operates.
\u2022
Develop and encourage clear channels of two-way communication with the client throughout the conduct of audit engagements.
\u2022
Contribute to discussions of findings with Heads of Service, Directors, and agree Management Action Plans for the implementation of recommendations with them.
\u2022
Report significant risk or governance issues arising from the audits undertaken.
Requirements:
\u2022
Relevant degree and significant relevant experience.
\u2022
Certified Internal Auditor (IIA) or equivalent; OR
\u2022
Part qualified or part qualified and studying for a CCAB recognised qualification (ICAEW, ICAS, ICAI, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA).

You should be available to work immediately or at short notice.
\u2022
You should have the right to work in the U.K.
\u2022
This role requires a basic DBS.
