We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Sheffield. About the Role
  • Lead the design and delivery of electrical engineering projects, ensuring technical excellence and meeting client expectations.
  • Develop and implement QA procedures and project design reviews to maintain high standards.
  • Predict and plan future resources, including setting up new projects and managing budgets.
  • Represent the company at internal and external meetings, promoting our services and expertise.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of plans for the longer-term benefit of the business.
  • Author official documents, such as letters and reports, for internal and external use.
  • Execute responsibilities as outlined by the senior management team.
  • Procure work, negotiating agreements with customers and suppliers.
  • Identify, control, and monitor variations, negotiating and defining additional scope and timescales as necessary.
  • Set and meet agreed budgets, ensuring financial targets are achieved.
  • Assist with the recruitment, appraisal, performance, development, morale, and motivation of specified staff.
  • Contribute to the setting of budgets and achieving financial targets in specified areas.
  • Negotiate significant contracts and agreements with customers and suppliers.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in electrical engineering design.
  • Ideal Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Member of a professional institution.
  • Chartered Engineering status or willingness to work towards chartership.
  • Proven experience in electrical design engineering, with a strong track record of successful project delivery.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Proficient in relevant software and tools for electrical design and project management.
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and collaborate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
  • A friendly, ambitious, and confident individual with a flexible and resilient approach.
