About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our team at Michael Page Procurement & Supply Chain. As a Senior Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting our client in Oxfordshire with their strategic negotiations and contracts to reduce risk and create value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage own allocated categories and associated suppliers, including tracking of their performance
  • Support the Purchasing Manager and other procurement teams and suppliers to deliver cost out initiatives and projects across the sites
  • Identify, manage and deliver a pipeline of cost reduction and sustainability initiatives with site Procurement and Operational team
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure procurement processes are aligned with business objectives
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to drive cost savings and improve supplier relationships

Requirements

  • Proven experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments, preferably in FMCG and food industries
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Experience of working with global suppliers, including UK, EU, Far East, and America
  • Ability to take a procurement career in-depth and discuss challenges faced and procurement project work, including cost savings and achievements made
