Second Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Second Chef to join our Hospitality team at Runwood Homes. As a Second Chef, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality food and hospitality services to our residents.
Key Responsibilities:- Food Preparation and Service: Ensure that all stages of food preparation are maintained to the highest standards, ensuring the well-being of residents.
- Menu Planning and Execution: Ensure the cooking and serving of meals are in accordance with the menu, company requirements, and resident dietary needs.
- Food Safety and Hygiene: Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.
- Quality Control: Ensure the quality of meals produced in terms of presentation and taste, meeting the expectations of our residents.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock, maintain effective stock rotation, and place orders where required.
- Team Leadership: Deputise for the Head Chef where required, demonstrating leadership and teamwork skills.
- Experience: Relevant experience in a catering environment, preferably in a residential elderly care setting.
- Qualifications: NVQ 2 or City & Guilds Equivalent, Food Hygiene level 2, and a basic understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
- Skills: Team player, understanding of special dietary and nutritional requirements, ability to communicate effectively at all levels, and a genuine interest in working within a caring environment.
