About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Specialist to join our team in Uxbridge, London or Skipton, North Yorkshire. As a key member of our litigation team, you will be responsible for managing complex cases from inception to resolution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the performance of external solicitors and provide input at review meetings.
  • Give instructions to solicitors on complex or contentious cases.
  • Draft letters to solicitors or customers related to legal issues.
  • Review and approve payments to third parties.
  • Refer cases to senior management with recommendations backed by rationales.
  • Make decisions on case progression in accordance with documented policies.
  • Manage a small portfolio of complex cases and progress them appropriately.
  • Act as a point of reference for the arrears and litigation teams.
Requirements:
  • Extensive knowledge of mortgage possession litigation processes in Scotland, Northern Ireland, and England, as well as land law in England and Wales.
  • Sound knowledge of mortgage operations and secured lending regulation in the UK, including the Consumer Credit Act, MCOB, Consumer Duty, and Mortgage Charter.
  • Experience in instructing solicitors and monitoring their performance.
  • A good understanding of regulatory requirements and their impact on the business.
  • The ability to effectively relate to customer needs and ensure third-party suppliers meet their expectations.
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
