Job Title: Restaurant Shift Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Restaurant Shift Manager to join our team at Unit E, Drakehouse Retail Estate. As a Restaurant Shift Manager, you will be responsible for leading a dynamic team and ensuring exceptional customer service in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example and treat customers as top priority.
  • Be customer-focused in all areas of restaurant operations.
  • Accurately schedule staff to meet customer demand.
  • Support the team to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular store walks to ensure customer satisfaction.

People Management:

  • Encourage staff to share suggestions and concerns.
  • Provide feedback to team members on performance and set goals and objectives.
  • Create a positive team culture and ensure all employees are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Manage performance when necessary, working with the HR Department.

Driving Sales:

  • Understand sales trends, popular products, and peak trade times.
  • Ensure all products are correctly merchandised and at sufficient levels.
  • Coach employees to upsell and suggest sell to customers.
  • Evaluate areas for improvement and implement changes to drive sales growth.

Operations:

  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators, such as sales, employee turnover, and food safety standards.
  • Set the example for the team by maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure.
  • Manage weekly stock orders and ensure quality checks.
  • Maintain equipment and perform preventative maintenance and calibration.
  • Optimize inventory levels and maintain operational standards.
  • Ensure opening and closing procedures are followed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe restaurant environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in restaurant management.
  • A flexible and disciplined approach to work.
  • Experience in a food environment is advantageous but not essential.
  • Able to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Have a reasonable standard of numeracy and literacy.
  • Maintain high food hygiene and safety standards.
  • Experience in handling customer complaints.
