A Principal Engineer is required to lead a team of Mechanical and Chemical Engineers in Plymouth. The role involves supporting the on-site process of nuclear systems, projects, and maintenance of pipes, pumps, and tank systems around the site. You will also be leading engineering analyses including calculations, component structural analysis, and system fluid flow analysis. You'll support the development and operation of new facilities for the defuel of decommissioned nuclear submarines, and will provide technical guidance on the safe transfer, storage, treatment, and disposal of radioactive liquid effluent from in-service submarines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Mechanical and Chemical Engineers in Plymouth
  • Support the on-site process of nuclear systems, projects, and maintenance of pipes, pumps, and tank systems
  • Lead engineering analyses including calculations, component structural analysis, and system fluid flow analysis
  • Support the development and operation of new facilities for the defuel of decommissioned nuclear submarines
