Babcock International Group is a leading provider of complex engineering services, and we're currently seeking multiple Senior and Principal Nuclear Safety Engineers to join our team at our Devonport site.
The Role
As a Senior / Principal Nuclear Safety Engineer, you'll have a unique opportunity to contribute to the design and build of new submarine maintenance facilities at our Devonport site. You'll work closely with our team to provide expert knowledge on nuclear safety assessment processes and policy, ensuring compliance with statutory legislation and delivering nuclear safety cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical advice on nuclear safety assessment processes and policy
- Ensure compliance with statutory legislation
- Deliver nuclear safety cases
- Develop and implement nuclear safety processes and standards
- Act as an intelligent customer for 3rd party deliverables, assuring the output is fit for purpose
Requirements
- A background in nuclear/radiological safety
- Good interpersonal skills and be competent in verbal and written communication
- The ability to operate and interface effectively with senior stakeholders
Qualifications
- Educated to Degree level in an Engineering or Scientific discipline and/or have relevant knowledge and experience
- Chartered Engineer status is desirable (or working towards this)
Security Clearance
Applicants must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
