Job Title: Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise Specialist to join our team at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, delivering high-quality exercise programs to patients with cardiac disease. As a Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing exercise sessions that cater to the specific needs of our patients.

You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team, including specialist nurses and a highly specialist counselling psychologist, to provide comprehensive care to our patients. Your expertise in exercise physiology and cardiac rehabilitation will be invaluable in helping us to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver exercise programs for patients with cardiac disease, in accordance with BACPR guidelines.
  • Conduct health assessments and screenings for patients referred to phase III and IV cardiac rehabilitation.
  • Liaise with the cardiac rehabilitation psychologist and specialist nurses to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of our exercise programs, contributing to the collation of data and periodic review of program effectiveness.
  • Document all patient interventions and conversations, adhering to departmental and trust policies.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications in exercise physiology, physiotherapy, or a related field.
  • Experience working with cardiac rehabilitation clients, with a focus on exercise programming and health assessments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize workload, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care.
