Job Title: Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced physiotherapist, exercise physiologist, or exercise instructor to join our cardiac rehabilitation team. As a Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering individual and group exercise training, as well as group education, to patients with cardiac disease.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Deliver group circuit type exercise sessions and individual gym programs for patients with cardiac disease, following BACPR guidelines.
  • Screen and conduct health assessments for phase II patients referred to phase III and IV, including exercise capacity tests.
  • Liaise closely with Cardiac Rehab Psychologist and Specialist Nurses to conduct exercise sessions as part of Phase III rehabilitation.
  • Contribute to the collation of data and periodic review of the effectiveness of the program.
  • Document all patient interventions and conversations in accordance with departmental and trust policies.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with cardiac rehabilitation clients.
  • Experience in health promotion.
  • Experience in functional capacity testing.
  • Skilled in the use of computer/keyboards.
  • Knowledge of risk management.
Desirable:
  • Awareness of quality and safety standards and service audit requirements.
Personal Qualities and Attributes:
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and solve problems.
  • Flexibility and approachability.
