Early Childhood Assistant

This role involves working one-on-one with a child who requires support with language and communication skills, as well as social/emotional skills. The ideal candidate will be confident in their ability to communicate effectively with the child, the Autism Specialist, and the family, as well as the rest of the centre's team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support to a child with autism, focusing on language and communication skills, social/emotional skills, and daily living skills.

• Collaborate with the Autism Specialist to develop and implement individualized support plans.

• Communicate effectively with the child, the Autism Specialist, and the family to ensure a smooth and supportive environment.

Requirements

• Early Childhood Education or Intensive Behavioural Intervention training (IBI) an asset.

• English as a first language preferred.

• CPR First Aid training and Vulnerable Sector Check required.

• Experience working with children with autism or in a daycare setting an asset.
