Digital Heritage and Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as the Digital Heritage and Operations Manager. This role will be responsible for running innovative user-centred services, including the reading room, digitisation studio, and our digital heritage lab online platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on the identification and scheduling of digitisation priorities
  • Prepare content (physically and intellectually) for projects in liaison with the wider team
  • Curate digital content for access and reuse in the online platform
  • Coordinate with archivists, librarians, and curators to inform storytelling and package content to serve specific uses
  • Keep abreast of platform developments, liaising with suppliers and experimenting with innovative tools to support digital scholarship and digital preservation
  • Work with learning development and academic liaison colleagues to ensure collections and digital skills are embedded in teaching
  • Monitor usage of collections and work with communications colleagues to promote and raise the profile of collections online for specific audiences

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to the development of our digital heritage and operations services. As a Digital Heritage and Operations Manager, you will be responsible for driving services forward and developing a broader user base for collections in our physical and virtual spaces.

Requirements:

  • Highly skilled and motivated individual with experience in digital heritage and operations
  • Strong understanding of digital preservation and scholarship
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a small team
