Job Title: Quality Scientist I

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Scientist I to join our Technology Development Group within the Physics sub-function at AWE.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking research and development on diagnostics for hydrodynamics trials, working in the laboratory to develop new techniques and diagnostics, and undertaking data analysis. A strong degree in Physics or a related subject with a focus on applied science, or relevant experience in the field of optics or photonics, is required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement new techniques and diagnostics for hydrodynamics trials
  • Undertake data analysis and interpretation
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement new research projects
  • Contribute to the development of new techniques and methods for the analysis of diagnostic data
Requirements:
  • Strong degree in Physics or a related subject with a focus on applied science, or relevant experience in the field of optics or photonics
  • Practical laboratory skills
  • Experience of programming with MatLab or Python
  • Initiative, enthusiasm, and a flexible approach
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
