About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Controller to join our team at BDO LLP. As a Credit Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing the firm's revenue flow and ensuring the timely collection of debts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce consistent credit control procedures to minimize bad debt and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Actively chase all debt within the allotted portfolio, using effective communication and negotiation skills to resolve disputes and secure timely payments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client notes and records, using Workday to track status and progress.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve queries and disputes, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing the risk of bad debt.
  • Monitor and analyze aged debt, identifying trends and areas for improvement to optimize credit control processes.
  • Prepare regular reports and summaries to provide insights and recommendations for credit control improvements.
  • Work closely with the Credit Control Manager to escalate complex issues and develop strategies to mitigate risk.
  • Engage with clients to resolve disputes and negotiate payment plans, ensuring a positive and professional relationship.
  • Process credit notes and adjustments in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with firm policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Professional services experience, preferably in a credit control or financial management role.
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze data to inform credit control decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present confidently and professionally to stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and influence others to achieve credit control goals.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional client service and maintaining a positive reputation for BDO LLP.
