Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced pharmacy technician to join our team as a Clinical Medicines Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and innovative individual to contribute to the development of medicines management services in a clinical area.

The successful candidate will have experience in medicines reconciliation, patient counselling, and medicines management functions. They will be able to work effectively alone and as part of a team, contributing to service development and innovation by their own initiative and enthusiasm.

This role involves coordinating medicines supply activity at ward level and providing effective communication and coordination with central dispensaries. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that medicines, including Controlled Drugs, which are returned to pharmacy from their wards are either returned to stock or disposed of in accordance with current procedures.

Key responsibilities include maintaining up-to-date handover sheets, carrying out three-monthly checks of controlled drugs in clinical areas, and acting as a line manager for allocated staff. We are committed to developing advanced practitioner skills through further education and training.
