Key Responsibilities:

As a Cleaning Supervisor at Mitie, you will be responsible for managing a cleaning team to deliver exceptional service to our clients. Your key responsibilities will include:

Organising and leading a cleaning team to ensure high standards of service delivery, meeting all SLAs and adhering to cleaning schedules.

Supporting the Cleaning Account Manager and Senior Supervisor to deliver the contract at AWE.

Monitoring work performances to ensure correct standards are met and that team members are working effectively, while adhering to health and safety procedures.

Promoting and being involved in the training and development of the Housekeeping team.

Maintaining open lines of communication between Housekeepers, other Supervisors, and the Mitie management team.

Main Duties:

Providing flexible business support for ad-hoc tasks and assisting colleagues and other teams as required.

Motivating and developing your team to encourage good team spirit and a culture of high performance.

Understanding and complying with HR and H&S policies and procedures.

Carrying out work in a safe and diligent manner.

Attending and fully participating in training and appraisals.

Undertaking additional duties in line with capabilities as required.

Ensuring the service is delivered effectively and efficiently to a high standard.

Building positive and productive working relationships with all customers, delivering excellent customer service and seeking ways to continuously improve and exceed expectations.

Adhering to Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures on site and to Mitie's policies and procedures.

Being aware of material expenditure and ensuring adequate cleaning equipment and materials in your area are ordered, ensuring within agreed budgets.

Maintaining a high standard of personal hygiene and giving attention to hands/finger nails, hair care, and general appearance. Shoes must be fully covered with tread and appropriate for the requirements of the role.

Person Specification:

This is a full-time post: 9DFN (Nine-day fortnight) – Average 40.5 hours per week – subject to roster change.

Full driving licence preferred but not essential.

DV clearance is preferable but S/C working towards DV will be considered. However, to successfully complete this position, DV clearance must be obtained.

Minimum 2 years supervisory experience or Highfield level 3 qualification.

Highfield level 3 qualification or equivalent must be obtained (training will be provided).

BIC@S accredited training must be obtained (training will be provided).

Demonstrable decision-making skills, being self-driven, and determined.

Drive for continuous improvements in service delivery.

Able to use own initiative.

Deal with complaints and rectify immediately.

Highly organised with excellent planning skills, efficient, and effective.

Brief all SSoW associated with the Housekeeping role and ensure that the team understands the briefing.

Brief/train Housekeepers correct manual handling.

Train new employees and ensure they are competent to carry out their role as a Housekeeper.

Check Housekeeping competencies every day and ensure continued compliance.

Always observe client's and Mitie company rules.

Maintain any records as requested by manager/Mitie procedure: Competencies/Manual Handling Awareness/Toolbox talks/Cleaning check sheets and machinery check sheets.

Undergo and attend all Mitie/AWE training.

Follow all AWE security procedures.

Be flexible to any ad-hoc tasking requested by Manager/Senior Supervisor.

Be very proactive in the 'One Mitie' team.

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

Always follow Group and company policies and procedures.

Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.

Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.

Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and/or via your divisional incident reporting system.

Information Security:

Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities.

Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager.

Report actual and suspected security incidents.
