About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Independent Living Solutions Ltd. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to James, a 10-year-old boy with Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support James with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
  • Assist James with his mobility and transfers, using specialist equipment as needed.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to James, promoting his independence and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with James' family and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and support.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting individuals with complex needs.
Requirements
  • Experience working with individuals with Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy, or a similar condition.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a patient and empathetic approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with James and his family.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require bending, kneeling, squatting, pushing, or pulling, as well as the ability to lift and transfer James as needed.
  • Valid driving license and access to a reliable vehicle, as James requires transportation to appointments and activities.
