Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Registered Children's Nurse to support the continuing development of the Paediatric Cardiology service at Darent Valley Hospital, for a period of 12 months as maternity cover. This will be a secondment opportunity.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work across children's and adult services providing clinical, specialist and holistic support/advice to children and young people with a diagnosis of a cardiology condition.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting up and running joint and nurse-led clinics in conjunction with Consultant colleagues to offer the highest level of care to the patient caseload.
  • Providing highly specialised support and advice via different means of technology.
  • Offering clinical and educational support to staff within the team.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Registered Children's Nurse qualification.
  • Diploma or Degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with dealing with families and children with cardiology conditions.
  • Teaching/Mentorship qualification.
  • Completed or willing to undertake a qualification in management of children with Cardiology disorders.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
