About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Commissioning Engineer to join our team at Siemens Energy. As a key member of our commissioning team, you will be responsible for supporting our Small Gas Turbine fleet in the field, mobilizing to deal with a range of activities including commissioning, overhauls, and breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete precommissioning and commissioning activities across various application types and control systems.
  • Set up, troubleshoot, and validate systems, including reading control logic and performing cause and effect checks on fire and gas monitoring systems.
  • Perform starting and running checks, including operating and driven unit knowledge, and root cause analysis of start failures.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with relevant business partnering teams and external customers.
  • Proactively drive team performance on site and address areas for improvement.
  • Transfer knowledge to customer operating teams and train and mentor Commissioning team members.
  • Manage and lead onsite teams, including Siemens Energy staff, third-party workers, and customer operatives.
  • Contribute to the overall planning of projects, on and offsite, in conjunction with key business stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Proven engineering experience, qualified to degree level or equivalent, with a strong understanding of rotating equipment and gas turbine operations.
  • Previous experience in commissioning and/or troubleshooting gas turbines or similar capital equipment.
  • Excellent customer focus and communication skills.
  • A flexible attitude to travel, with the ability to mobilize on short notice.
  • A proactive attitude towards self-management, ensuring you are within key targets and goals.
