Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Type: Temporary, 32.5 hours per week

Location: Grimsby

Salary: £85 per day

Reed Education is currently working with a Grimsby Primary School to find a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support in a Year 4 class. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who has a passion for supporting children with EHCPs.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to children with a range of special educational needs and disabilities within a classroom setting.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Assist with the preparation of learning materials and the classroom environment.
  • Encourage and assist children with their educational and social development, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Monitor and support the progress and well-being of the children.
  • Facilitate the inclusion of SEN pupils in all aspects of school life.
  • Adapt communication style to meet the needs of individual children.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Understanding of the needs of children with SEN and the ability to meet these needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and a supportive approach to learning.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to tasks.
