We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team at RSM UK.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the payroll section in ensuring that the firm's payroll for 4,500 people and related remuneration and benefit packages are run properly.
Key Responsibilities- Provide detailed information to the payroll controller or manager on the status of work and any problems encountered.
- Check work undertaken to ensure it is error-free and complete tasks on a timely basis to meet deadlines.
- Assist with other duties as required by the payroll controller or manager.
- Answer queries arising by phone and email.
- Assist with the administration of other Payroll functions as required.
- Assist with the running of monthly payrolls, particularly keying monthly changes.
- Calculate adjustments required, including pro-rata calculations.
- Check calculations and input of other team members.
- Complete NLW and NMW checks.
- Complete end of period payroll reporting for review by the payroll manager.
- Ensure all staff are correctly sited within the firm's accounting structure.
- Ensure all statutory payments to staff are made correctly.
- Liaise with the People Team, staff, and local office Partners on payroll matters.
- Process company benefits reports.
- Process flexible working amendments.
- Process staff starting and returning from maternity/shared parental leave in accordance with firm's policies, including Alabaster calculations where required.
- Produce maternity payment schedule for staff starting maternity leave.
- Update sickness including SSP calculations.
- A good general standard of education, including GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English at C or above.
- A minimum of 2 years' in-house payroll experience.
- Pension knowledge/experience preferable.
- Methodical, organised, and accurate.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
- Good communication skills, both verbal & written.
- Excellent team player.
