About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional individual to fill the position of Head of Adult Speech and Language Therapy at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Job Description
  • Key Responsibilities: Ensure high standards of professionalism, leadership, and consistent performance across therapy services. Provide operational and professional leadership, overseeing service response to day-to-day site pressures, ensuring effective delivery of Trust services.
  • Acting within the divisional structure, provide strong leadership to therapy services, directing service response to meet the needs of patients and stakeholders.

Essential Requirements:
Holding a postgraduate clinical qualification and a postgraduate leadership/management qualification or evidence of management and leadership development experience in a therapy setting. Holding a senior leadership role with experience of complex performance management, developing innovative relationships with key stakeholders, and taking action based on interpretation of clinical policies.

Person Specification
  • Qualifications: HCPC registered, educated to masters level (or equivalent), postgraduate clinical qualification, and postgraduate leadership/management qualification or evidence of management and leadership development.
  • Experience: Experience of a leadership role in a therapy setting, complex performance management, developing innovative relationships with key stakeholders, and taking action based on interpretation of clinical policies.
  • Skills: Significant experience and knowledge of therapies issues, national AHP agenda, ability to respond at pace to changes in work priorities and demands, excellent communication skills, capacity to absorb information, and set personal standards.
