About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a secondary SEN school in Lewisham borough. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex behavioural needs, helping them engage with learning and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students, focusing on managing challenging behaviours
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning plans
  • Use your experience to build positive, supportive relationships with students and manage challenging situations effectively
  • Foster a safe and structured learning environment, encouraging social and emotional development
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional resilience, acting as a key role model
  • Support with core subject support across secondary age groups
About You
  • Experience working with young people from a youth mentor, young offenders, or mental health background is highly desirable
  • A strong, empathetic approach to managing challenging behaviours in a school setting
  • Ability to commit to full-time hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM) for the long term
  • A resilient, calm, and patient attitude, with the ability to adapt to different situations
  • Passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people
