About the Role


The University of Bristol is seeking a highly motivated Academic Psychiatrist in Training to join our team. This exciting opportunity combines clinical and research training in general adult psychiatry, offering a unique chance to develop your own independent programme of research.



Key Responsibilities



  • To complete clinical training in general adult psychiatry while developing your academic skills and applying for Advanced Fellowships.
  • To work under the Centre for Academic Mental Health to develop your own independent programme of research.
  • To combine clinical and research training, with a focus on general adult psychiatry.


Requirements


We are looking for an individual who has completed core training or is eligible for higher specialist training in general adult psychiatry in the UK at ST4 level or above. Additionally, you must have either completed or submitted a higher degree by research (PhD or MD or equivalent) by the time of applying for this post. You will be motivated to continue clinical academic training in psychiatry and have a strong desire to contribute to research in the field.



Contract Details


This is a fixed-term position, annually renewable for up to 4 years or until CCT, whichever occurs first. The contract is full-time, with less than full-time considered if necessary. We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
