Heriot-Watt University is seeking a highly motivated Robotics Researcher to join our dynamic team within the School of Engineering & Physical Sciences. This exciting opportunity is part of a cutting-edge project funded by EPSRC, placing you at the forefront of research in optimizing Complex Optical Systems through innovative automation techniques.
Your Role:
- Conduct in-depth scientific research and analysis within the field of robotics and machine learning.
- Collaborate effectively with team members from diverse backgrounds and industry partners to achieve project goals.
- Present your research findings at prestigious workshops and conferences, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the field.
- Play a key role in designing and implementing experiments that push the boundaries of automation technology.
- Contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of our state-of-the-art experimental facilities.
Your Qualifications:
- A Master's or Ph.D. degree in a relevant field such as Robotics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics.
- Proven experience in programming languages like Python and Matlab, demonstrating your ability to develop and implement complex algorithms.
- Excellent communication skills, enabling you to articulate your research findings clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
