The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Chief Pharmacist and Associate Chief Pharmacists in delivering high-quality medicines optimisation work programmes and activities across NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB and Place Based Partnerships.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic medicines optimisation and clinical professional advice to NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB and Place Based Partnerships.
- Support the development and implementation of medicines optimisation strategies across Primary Care Networks.
- Work closely with the Associate Chief Pharmacists, Chief Pharmacist, and Senior Medicines Optimisation team to raise standards for patients by improving the safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness of prescribing in primary care.
- Manage the Medicines Optimisation teams and coordinate the development and implementation of medicines optimisation strategies across Place Based Partnerships.
- Provide expert advice to NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB, Place Based Partnerships, senior managers, Primary Care Networks, prescribers, and other key stakeholders on medication-related issues.
- Embed the principles of the NHS Constitution and relevant national legislation in medicines optimisation functions.
- Provide clinical professional leadership and strategic direction across Place Based Partnerships and support Primary Care Networks within individual partnerships.
- Promote strong cross-organisational relationships and support joint working across health and social care systems.
- Support the development of the role of pharmacists as part of the primary care Multi-Disciplinary Team.
- Have authority to act on key work stream leads and meet the needs and priorities of NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB and Place Based Partnerships.
