This is an exciting opportunity to join the Military Court Service (MCS) as a Court Administration Assistant. As a key member of the team, you will provide administrative support to the Service Courts, ensuring the smooth operation of court proceedings.
The MCS is an independent tri-Service organisation, delivering a criminal court service for the Royal Navy, Army, and Royal Air Force, as well as civilians subject to Service Discipline. With two permanent Court Centres in Bulford and Catterick, the MCS has the ability to deploy anywhere in the world.
As a Court Administration Assistant, you will be based at the Military Court Centre Bulford, working closely with the Service Courts to prepare for hearings, manage court documents, and provide administrative support to the judiciary and other stakeholders.
The role requires excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure. You will be responsible for preparing Board specifications, managing Pre-Sentence Reports (PSRs), and administering custody applications, warrants, and production orders. You will also be required to maintain accurate records, update databases, and provide statistical information.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Board specifications, including checking eligibility and personal details for accuracy.
- Manage Pre-Sentence Reports (PSRs), including issuing appointment letters and requesting completion and submission of supporting documentation.
- Administer custody applications, warrants, and production orders, including liaison with stakeholders and the judiciary.
- Maintain accurate records and update databases, including CMRS databases.
- Provide statistical information and support to the judiciary and other stakeholders.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure and maintain accurate records. You will also require a high level of organisation, flexibility, and attention to detail. A background in administration or a related field would be beneficial, but not essential.
