About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy General Manager to join our Cancer Directorate team. As a key member of the Divisional Leadership Team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Directorate General Manager and driving the delivery of our overarching portfolios.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Directorate General Manager in the delivery of our strategic objectives
  • Leading on cancer performance and delivery, staff engagement and communication, workforce planning, and financial efficiency
  • Working closely with externally provided data to drive service improvement
  • Developing and delivering staff development projects and communications strategies

You will be a senior operational management professional with significant expertise in project management, NHS policy, contracting and funding, strategic planning and delivery. You will have a proven track record of driving improvement through engaging others and a positive and forward-thinking approach.

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital trust in the south-east of England. We provide a full range of general hospital services and some aspects of specialist and complex care to around 600,000 people living in west Kent and East Sussex. We have a team of over 8,000 full and part-time staff and provide specialist cancer services to around 2 million people across Kent and East Sussex via the Kent Oncology Centre.
