Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Residential Worker to join our team at Essex County Council. As a Residential Worker, you will play a vital role in providing nurturing therapeutic care to children who have experienced trauma.

About the Role:

As a Residential Worker, you will be responsible for supporting and caring for children in a newly refurbished short-term home. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to help children develop the skills and resilience to return to their families or onto longer-term care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing nurturing therapeutic care to children who have experienced trauma
  • Supporting and caring for children in a residential setting
  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to help children develop skills and resilience
  • Managing challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques
  • Effective written and verbal communication

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Diploma in a relevant field (or willingness to complete within 2 years)
  • Ability to work a mixture of early and late shifts
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage challenges with a calm and patient demeanour
