About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Optometrist to join our team at the Royal Stoke University Hospital, part of the University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality eye care services to patients, including assessing and managing complex adult and paediatric eye conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive eye examinations and assessments for patients with a range of eye conditions, including paediatric and adult eye diseases.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to manage eye conditions, including prescribing medications and providing advice on eye care.
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including ophthalmologists and orthoptists, to provide comprehensive eye care services.
  • Participate in clinical supervision and teaching of undergraduate students.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and policies.
Person Specification

We are looking for an experienced Optometrist who is registered with the General Optical Council (GOC) and has a strong background in eye care. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will also have a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care and a willingness to participate in continuing professional development.
